Why this statement?

DHSS attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data. With this privacy statement we inform you about how we handle your personal data. We do this as clearly and transparently as possible.

 

Who is this statement for?

This statement is addressed to all DHSS relations. So it concerns (potential) suppliers, clients, customers, etc. Which personal data does DHSS collect and use? DHSS collects and uses the following personal data:

  • Name
  • Company name
  • Job title
  • Business address

 

What does the law say about this?

The General Data Protection Regulation states that any processing must be based on a basis. One of the legal bases concerns “the legitimate interest”. DHSS has a legitimate interest. After all, it is not reasonably possible to achieve the above objectives without processing personal data. In addition, the processing is mandatory under tax legislation and / or the AEO customs regulations.

 

Is the provision of personal data mandatory?

There is no law under which personal data must be provided to DHSS. However, it may follow from the contracts that provision is necessary to provide services.

 

How long are personal data kept?

DHSS does not store the processed personal data in the systems longer than they are necessary to achieve the goal and for a maximum of 2 years.

 

Are personal data passed on to third parties?

DHSS does not pass on personal data to third parties, unless permission has been given by the data subject, this follows from the contractual obligations entered into and / or this is required by law; such as, for example, transmission of personal data via Ship2Report to the Royal Netherlands Immigration office.

 

Are personal data transferred to locations outside the EEA?

No, DHSS does not forward personal data to locations outside the European Economic Area.

 

Does DHSS process personal data without involving people?

DHSS does not use fully automated systems / processes and / or automated decision-making (such as profiling), except where data subjects can obtain access with an access pass for which the access granting system is automated.

 

Are monitoring systems used?

Yes. DHSS uses cameras on and around its Warehouses.

 

Privacy rights

You have the right to request us to view, supplement, amend, limit, transfer, delete, or a copy of personal data. If we receive your request, we will follow the law and you will then receive our decision at your request. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, but we ask that you first notify us of your objections.

Which personal data does DHSS collect and use?

DHSS collects and uses the following personal data: visit date, time of arrival, name, company name, departure time, initials and camera images.

 

Why does DHSS use this personal data? What does the law say about this?

DHSS wants to know who is on its site and why. This is necessary to monitor safety and to be able to proceed with a complete evacuation in the event of an emergency. In addition, DHSS has a commercial, legitimate interest. The personal data is necessary for the business process to run smoothly. Finally, there are various laws from which it follows that DHSS must pursue a sound security and access policy, such as the Working Conditions Act and the AEO.

 

Is the provision of personal data mandatory?

Yes. If you do not provide the requested data, we unfortunately cannot grant you access.

 

How long are personal data kept?

The personal data is stored for a maximum of 1 year. This way we can always conduct good research in the event of irregularities.

 

Are personal data passed on to third parties and/or outside the EEA?

No. The data remains with DHSS and within the European Economic Area.
